Hanover Safe Place, through the Hanover Domestic Violence Resource Center, offers many services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in Hanover County.
These services include:
- 24 Hour Hotline
- Support Group for Battered and Formerly Battered Women
- Shelter for Victims and Their Children
- Children's Services and Prevention Program
- Crisis Intervention and Assistance, Advocacy, Case Management, Safety Planning, Emergency Cell Phones and Hospital Accompaniment
- Emergency Financial Assistance and Loan Program
- Information and Referrals to emergency shelters, local attorneys, Legal Aid, and mental health providers
- Court Accompaniment for Victims
- Community Education and Training
- Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Speaker's Bureau
- Volunteer Program

Mission Statement and Guiding Principals
The purpose of this organization shall be to combine efforts of various community agencies and groups in identifying, preventing, and reducing the incidence of Domestic Violence in Hanover County, and raising public awareness of Domestic Violence in the Hanover Community.
The guiding principals in meeting the stated mission shall be:

To strengthen, support and enhance the various community agencies and groups who provide services to individuals and/or families involved in Domestic Violence.

To develop local community-based resources for the treatment, prevention and reduction of the incidence of Domestic Violence.

To provide consultation and education to various community agencies and the general public regarding Domestic Violence and its impact on the family and the community.
